Cindrella by Edmund Dulac

You are invited to attend to Cinderella, and fairy tales and transformations and miracles and all those things we usually don’t dare to think will happen in real life. Yes, we have the Kinks and Dylan and RLS, and others. Tammy Wynette tells us she still believes in fairy tales. Do you?

You can find the Perrault version of Cinderella in Andrew Lang’s Blue Fairy Book, but you’ll have to overlook the silly moral tagged at the end. There are lots of good versions of the Grimms version of Cinderella, who in some translations retains her German name of Ashenputtel.

Just wanted to say it’s nice to have a voice to put with my online professor for once. Enjoyed the podcasts very much. Thank you for directing us to them.

Professor, I really enjoyed the podcasts. I see that our life is a journey filled with fairy tales of some sort. Never thought of life in this aspect before.
